As we change into summer leave period – do you have some changes we can support?

  • Life changes – getting ready for retirement / thinking about the future and flexible retirement
  • Aspirations to Change to your Career, thinking ahead for 2026 and you want to get ready
  • Changes in Health – and you would like some learning

Preparing for phased/early retirement

Thursday 10 July 11am - 12:30pm

The session will cover getting your 'house' in order, reviewing your own expenditure, taking your final salary pension early, drawbacks/advantages, options on how to use your lump sum efficiently, future pension provision, SIPP and state pension. Developing your own bucket list, loyalty schemes and shares that offer shareholder holder benefits, and options for stress free part time work as part of a phased retirement.

Thinking about career aspirations

The POA WULF learning project can support anyone who lives or works in Wales with funded courses. In conjunction with the FDA, we can offer the following courses to help you understand success profiles, start your application, or hone your skills.

Preparing for an Interview Friday 25  July 10am - noon

This session will invite participants to interact by answering questions in the chat function (but this is voluntary). No access to a camera or mic will be needed. Participants may then wish to undertake the more detailed and fully interactive sessions on particular aspects of the recruitment process

Statements in the Civil Service Wednesday 16  July 1pm - 3pm

This short course will consider different types of personal statement being used in Civil Service applications. Neil Rider will look at length, and possible content. There is no ‘one size fits all’ but we will consider how to include behaviours especially where there is a very restricted word count allowed. Neil will also cover structure and how to best showcase experience

Success Profiles – How to approach Strengths Tuesday 5 August 10am - noon Strengths are one element of Civil Service Success Profiles and this element has taken time to become embedded and so for some this may be a new experience when applying for roles or being assessed.

Noticing changes in you or your loved one
